Previous Employment:  Veterinary Emergency Service June 2009-February 2013

As a lifelong resident of Memphis, MI I am honored to provide knowledgeable and compassionate veterinary care to the pets and families of this small, but great, community.  I was raised on a family farm south of town.  My experiences in raising, breeding, and showing a myriad of species at the national level has allowed me to bring a great deal of knowledge and experience to my clients.  I am proud to say our family farm, Greenwood Farms LLC, is the current owner and exhibitor of the 2011 World Champion Clydesdale Mare, 6, 4, unicorn and team hitches. We too earned 2015 World Champion Clydesdale Stallion, Armaggedons Lord Lazarus, and 2015 Reserve World Champion Clydesdale mare, Beleau GF Carla, previously owned and bred by Budweiser Clydesdales.  I have experience with breeding and exhibiting English, Olde English Bulldogs and Jack Russel Terriers, Clydesdale draft horses, Arabian show horses, Simmental and Shorthorn cattle, Rambouillet and various sheep, various show birds from bantams to peacocks.

My special areas of interest include: veterinary alternative vaccination recommendations, equine reproduction, dentistry and surgery.  I am open to see some pocket pets and exotics as well.

I sincerely hope that my specially selected staff  and myself will be able to keep your animals happy and healthy for years to come.  God Bless and thank you for visiting our page.

Dr. Jeanette Roberts

Dr. Jeanette Roberts was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio where her passion for animals and dedication to nurturing them began. She was always interested in anatomy and biology, exploring the physical body and figuring out how things work.

Following high school, Dr. Roberts attended The University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio where she studied Pre-Veterinary Medicine, Biology and Chemistry. She was an active member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. After graduation, she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

During veterinary school, Dr. Roberts worked for university research and cared for primates, rodents and even ducks as they helped advance research in The Ohio State Research programs. Dr. Roberts lived next door to the chimpanzee cognitive research facility and was able to watch the chimpanzees learn to communicate through sign language. After graduation, she had an externship at the Detroit Zoo where she was able to work intimately with the amphibians as well as multiple other species needing veterinary care at that time.

Dr. Roberts came to the Blue Water area in 2005, and has worked as a mobile vet as well as in small animal clinics. She has special interest in Dermatology and Holistic medicine, and she enjoys learning new alternative methods of treating chronic pain and other ailments in pets. She was an instructor for the Baker College veterinary technician program in Port Huron for several years, teaching lectures and performing surgery, as well as helping in the laboratories. Dr. Roberts enjoys teaching students as well as clients, allowing them to take the best care possible of their fur babies.

When not working, Dr. Roberts is caring for her three human children and three dogs at home. She loves the beach and sunshine, and travels to experience new places and try new restaurants. Dr. Roberts also has an artistic side, loves a wide variety of music, painting and being creative, which comes in handy at work also!

Dr. Roberts looks forward to meeting you and your family, and making you all feel comfortable and welcome here at Greenwood Veterinary Associates.
